Save Shakti Foundation honours unsung heroes of our society with Pathbreaker Achievement Award

Chennai:

Save Shakti Foundation, an organisation working to protect the rights of women, the underprivileged, and the voiceless, presented Pathbreaker Achievement Awards to the unsung heroes of the society in Chennai Sunday (March 10).

These awards were presented to people from different walks of life for having contributed unconditionally to humanity, environment and the animal fraternity to make a difference in the most unique way.

Chhaya Devi, Co-Founder of Save Shakti foundation, who has been instrumental in charting out the road map for the inception and growth of the organisation, said, “Our efforts today support children for their education and find employment for the unemployed. We regularly conduct special mental health programs for senior citizens, encourage budding musicians and singers to showcase their talent, and protect animals. All these initiatives make community living inclusive.”

She added: “The Pathbreaker Achievement Awards that were present today recognise the selfless service of those who really worked hard beyond their call of duty, yet remained without gaining any attention. We wanted to throw the spotlight on these lesser-known persons and their service with this honour. Today, we are amidst such beautiful minds from different walks of life who fuel their days taking nothing for granted, practice radical self-honesty, fill every place they go with profound energy, enthusiasm and creativity. One of the best qualities of these action-oriented people here is that they are extremely generous. They give because they can, not for a reward.”

Nina Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Savera Group of Hotels, Suhasini Maniratnam, Actor, Director, Producer and Writer in the Tamil film industry, Dr. Mariazeena Johnson , Chancellor of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, and Divya Abhishek, the youngest Chairperson of Southern India Regional Council of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, were the guests of honour at the meaningful event held at Hotel Savera.
