The Good Deeds Club, a women’s organization dedicated to monthly charitable initiatives, successfully hosted the Dignity Project under the leadership of Apsara Reddy. This initiative, focused on uplifting transgender women, provides sustainable livelihood opportunities and essential resources to help them lead independent and dignified lives.

As part of the latest phase, 200 transgender women received groceries and daily essentials, ensuring their immediate well-being. Additionally, to enable financial independence, the Good Deeds Club sponsored five new food carts, customized to meet the specific needs of the beneficiaries. These include:

• Biryani food cart

• Mixed vegetable rice cart

• Tiffin center food cart

The food carts were handed over at Ernavur Transgender Housing Quarters, marking another milestone in an ongoing journey of economic empowerment.

The Dignity Project is an initiative that Apsara Reddy has championed in multiple phases, having already provided 116 food carts to transgender women across Tamil Nadu. These five food carts are part of the latest phase, reinforcing the Good Deeds Club’s commitment to long-term impact and financial stability for marginalized communities.

Speaking about the initiative, Apsara Reddy, founder of the Good Deeds Club and AIADMK spokesperson, said:

“The Dignity Project is not just about aid; it is about restoring self-reliance and respect for transgender women. By equipping them with livelihood opportunities, we are not giving charity—we are fostering economic independence and dignity. Every individual deserves the chance to lead a secure and fulfilling life, and through this initiative, we hope to create lasting impact.”

The Dignity Project continues to set a precedent for inclusive social progress, demonstrating that economic empowerment is the key to true equality. With each phase, the Good Deeds Club reaffirms its mission to uplift marginalized communities, ensuring they have the tools to build a self-sustained and dignified future.
